ARA--------------------------In Tiyar village, under the Tiyar police station area, a husband beat his wife to death on Friday morning following a dispute over a mere two hundred rupees. Upon receiving the information, the local police arrived at the scene, took possession of the body, and had a post-mortem examination conducted at the Sadar Hospital. Acting swiftly, the police have arrested the accused husband, Santosh Ram. According to reports, the deceased was Soni Devi (29), wife of Santosh Ram, a resident of Ward No. 7, Tiyar village, under the Tiyar police station area.

The deceased's father-in-law, Ramadhar Ram, stated that on Thursday night, after returning home from manual labor, Santosh gave his wife thirty rupees. His wife objected, noting that he had received one hundred and thirty rupees but was handing over only thirty. An argument ensued over this, though the matter seemed to settle for the night; he slept on the roof without eating, while his wife slept downstairs.

Upon waking on Friday morning, he claimed that she had taken two hundred rupees from his pocket. Ramadhar Ram questioned how she could have taken the money when they had slept on different floors. This led to a quarrel between the couple; Ramadhar intervened to resolve the dispute and then stepped out.

Shortly after returning home, he discovered his daughter-in-law hanging from a bamboo pole in her room with a noose around her neck. He subsequently informed the local police. Meanwhile, Ramadhar Ram has accused his son, Santosh Ram, of murdering his wife.

According to the death inquest report prepared by the police, it appears the woman died as a result of physical assault, though the exact cause of death will only be confirmed after the post-mortem report is received. Tiyar Station House Officer (SHO) Rajiv Ranjan Kumar stated that the husband killed his wife following an assault triggered by a minor dispute. The accused husband, Santosh Ram, has been arrested, and further action is underway.
