TWO INTER-DISTRICT DRUG PEDDLERS ARRESTED WITH 97.91 GRAMS OF HEROIN

ARA--------------------------Acting on a tip-off, the Sahar police arrested two smugglers belonging to an inter-district gang, seizing heroin and cash from them. The arrests were made on Saturday near the Sahar check post. Authorities recovered 97.91 grams of heroin, 8,400 rupees in cash, and a mobile phone. Additionally, the motorcycle they were using was also seized. The arrested individuals are Dipendralal Kumar (son of Narsingh Singh, from Ward No. 5, Korth village, under the Rampur Chauram police station in Arwal district) and Jai Prakash Kumar (son of Dinesh Yadav, from Ward No. 1, Bishu Bigha village, under the Karpi police station in the same district). Superintendent of Police (SP) Awadhesh Dixit provided this information via a press release.

He stated that the Sahar police had received confidential information that two individuals were planning to travel toward Arwal carrying heroin. Following the verification of this information, and under the instructions of SP Awadhesh Dixit, a special raid team was constituted—led by the Piro SDPO—with the Sahar Circle Officer (Anchal Adhikari) deputed to act as a magistrate. Subsequently, the team conducted intensive vehicle checks at the Sahar check post. During these checks, a motorcycle was observed approaching at high speed. Upon seeing the police, the driver attempted to turn his bike around and flee; however, with the assistance of the armed forces, both individuals were apprehended. In this connection, an FIR has been registered against them at the Sahar Police Station under the NDPS Act. Furthermore, the police are investigating their inter-district network.
