Darbhanga (RNI) social worker and leader of several national-level mass movements Arvind Pathak said that the people of Mithila will vote keeping their own interests in mind in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. He added that voters now have a real choice this time.
In an interview here today, Mr. Pathak stated that for the past three decades, the people have had only two options. “This time, there is a strong third option, and therefore, public expectations are quite high,” he said.
Responding to a question, he remarked that it would be premature to predict who will form the government, but it is certain that there is no wave in favor of any party or alliance. “The situation will become clearer after the nomination process is completed,” he added.
When asked about Prashant Kishor, head of the Jan Suraj movement, Mr. Pathak said that Mr. Kishor is well-educated and understands electoral dynamics deeply. “He has created a stir in Bihar and has put many people in trouble. This election will expose all the wrongdoers,” he said.
Commenting on the candidacy of former Sr. police officer R.K. Mishra from Darbhanga, Mr. Pathak noted that Mishra is probably the most qualified candidate in Mithila. “He has vast experience, and people should ensure his victory,” he added. L.S.
