STOLEN INSAS RIFLES RECOVERED
Bhojpur police recovered two INSAS rifles from under the sand at Situhari village under Narayanpur police station and also seized a car bearing registration number of Bihar though a CRPF man was still absconding.
Ara, 12 November 2022, (RNI): Bhojpur police recovered two INSAS rifles from under the sand at Situhari village under Narayanpur police station and also seized a car bearing registration number of Bihar though a CRPF man was still absconding. Police are conducting raids to arrest the absconding CRPF man. The CRPF man was identified as Rohit alias Sahdeo Rai of Situhari village. His family lived in a house at Pakari at Ara.
Bhojpur SP Sanjay Kumar Singh, talking to media persons today said that Rohit alias Sahadeo Rai was posted at 157 Bn of the CRPF at Chaibasha in Jharkhand and he stole two INSAS rifles from the Quot of the CRPF at Chaibasha after broking the window pan and hid them under the sand behind his house at Situhari village under Narayanpur police station in Bhojpur district. Inspector Banvari Lal Meena had lodged a named FIR under Adityapur police station against him in this regard on November 9, 2022. After that the Jharkhand police and officials of theh CRPF contacted Bhojpur SP Sanjay Kumar Singh and Adityapur police reached Ara and with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart conducted raids from Ara to Situhari village but Rohit alias Sahadeo Rai could be arrested. The police interrogated two of his family members and in the meantime, the police recovered the INSAS rifles from under the sand behind the house of Rohit. Police are also searching for his aid and driver Parmal Yadav.
During investigating, it came to light that Rahit Kumar was addicted to drug and he had misbehaved with his senior officers and so he was suspended and a proceeding for his force retirement is going on. It was said that Mohit Munda provided Rohit Kumar drug during duty hour. Considering the seriousness of matter, SP Anand Prakash formed a police team to arrest the CRPF man and also to recover the stolen INSAS rifles.
