HYDERABAD NOV 29 (RNI) Anaya Sharma 8 years old daughter of Gaurav Sharma and Aarti Bolaki has Won Gold Medal in Commonwealth Chess Championship 2025 held at Kualalampur, Malaysia.

She participated in Commonwealth Chess Championship in Under 8 Girls category. Among strong players from different countries Anaya Sharma was able to lead with a perfect 7/7 scoreline defeating all the top seed players emerging as a Gold Medalist with 8/9 score for India.

Anaya's chess journey started at the age of 5 at Kalpataru Summer Camp, Ekagra and Currently at Maestro Chess Acadamy. Her interest and skill in the game makes her spend 6-8 tireless hours practicing and honing her skills at Maestro Chess Acadamy, Attapur under the guidance of coach Amith Pal Singh.

After proving her acumen at state & National level she has now moved to International ARENA first representing India at Under 8 CHESS World Cup held in Batumi Georgia in July 2025. Out of 200 odd participant she came 7th in the world in her category. She is a 1600 above rated Fide Player.

Anaya a 4th grade student of Hyderabad public school, Begumpet is grateful for the unwavering support which has been instrumental in her chess journey.
