DELHI----------------------------The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee participated in a protest held in Delhi to safeguard democracy, the Constitution, and the voting rights of citizens. Former Jharkhand Minister Banna Gupta and Mayor of Mango Municipal Corporation, Sudha Gupta, took part in the event.
During the protest, issues were raised regarding alleged irregularities in the voter list under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and the potential impact on the voting rights of eligible citizens. Congress leaders demanded transparency, impartiality, and accountability in the voter list revision process.
Former Minister Banna Gupta emphasized the need to retain the names of eligible voters, ensure the timely correction of errors, and provide fair redressal of grievances. Meanwhile, Mayor Sudha Gupta stated that clear guidelines and an effective grievance redressal mechanism are essential to protect the voting rights of every eligible citizen and maintain public trust in the electoral process.
The protest demanded that no eligible citizen's name be erroneously removed from the voter list and that every individual be given adequate opportunity to present their case and make necessary corrections. Congress leaders underscored the necessity of a transparent and fair electoral process to uphold the credibility of democratic institutions and protect constitutional values.
