ARA-------------------------The process of gathering evidence for the judicial inquiry into the police firing incident that occurred on June 17, 2026, in Bilauti village (under the Shahpur police station area of ​​Bhojpur) is ongoing. Even 16 days after the Commission invited evidence and written statements from the general public, concerned parties, and organizations, no member of the public has come forward to present evidence before the Commission.

While four submissions have been received so far, none of the applicants have submitted an affidavit or digital evidence. Subodh Kumar Srivastava, the Commission's Secretary, held a press conference at the office on Monday and stated that requests for evidence and written statements regarding the incident had been issued to interested individuals and organizations on July 24.

Since then, the Commission has received four applications. However, none of the applicants have yet provided affidavits for testimony or submitted photos, videos, or other forms of digital evidence.

The Secretary mentioned that one of the four applicants has expressed an intention to present evidence before the Commission. The Commission has contacted the applicant by phone, requesting the submission of the evidence. In the second phase, the Commission is now focusing on gathering facts and direct evidence related to the incident.

The Commission has set a deadline of August 27, 2026, for relevant individuals to submit evidence. Interested individuals, groups, organizations, or institutions may submit written statements accompanied by affidavits, along with relevant evidence such as photos, videos, audio recordings, and other pertinent materials related to the incident.

According to the Commission, evidence and written statements supported by affidavits can be submitted in person, via registered post, or through e-mail.

The Commission has appealed to the concerned parties to provide any significant information or proof they possess regarding the incident within the stipulated timeframe.

Meanwhile, regarding the case of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari's murder, his family members have filed a petition in the CJM Court through Advocate Sanjeev Kumar. According to the lawyer, a formal application has been submitted seeking a comprehensive report on the police investigation conducted so far in the murder case registered at Shahapur Police Station.

Additionally, an update has been sought regarding the action being taken against the police personnel whose names surfaced during the testimony.

The court has accepted the application filed through the lawyer, and the next date for the hearing has been set for August 12.

The family members have requested the court to provide information regarding the current status of the investigation and the action taken against the concerned police personnel.

Regarding the death of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari, his mother, Asha Devi, had lodged an FIR at Shahapur Police Station alleging murder and naming the then DSP, the then Station House Officer (SHO), and other police personnel.

Following the preliminary police investigation, STF jawan Akshay Kumar was found guilty and subsequently sent to jail.

Meanwhile, reports have circulated on social media claiming that warrants have been issued against 11 police personnel; however, Bhojpur SP Raj has denied any such action.

Attention remains focused on the next steps regarding both the evidence-gathering process by the judicial inquiry commission and the ongoing police investigation.
