BUXAR--------------------Farmers in the Masahariya Gram Panchayat of Chaugain Block are struggling with a power crisis during the crucial paddy planting season. Irrigation activities have been hampered by faulty transformers, dilapidated power lines, and irregular electricity supply, prompting farmers to demand immediate intervention from the district administration. In this regard, a petition signed by dozens of farmers has been submitted to senior district officials under the leadership of Sudhir Kumar Singh, a prospective Mukhiya and farmers' representative.

The petition states that several transformers in Ojhabrao, Masahariya, and Fafdar villages are out of order, preventing farmers from receiving adequate electricity. The farmers have demanded the immediate replacement of the 25 kVA and 63 kVA capacity transformers at the affected locations.

The farmers also pointed out that while electricity poles have been installed in Masahariya village, the Low Tension (LT) wires have not yet been strung. Furthermore, in many places, old and dilapidated LT wires are at risk of snapping and falling at any moment, posing a threat to life and property. They have demanded the prompt replacement of these dilapidated wires with new ones.

The farmers state that the lack of electricity during this critical paddy planting period is disrupting irrigation and causing them significant financial loss. They questioned why the electricity department, district administration, and sub-divisional administration have not yet taken suo motu cognizance of this serious issue facing the food providers.

Prospective Mukhiya Sudhir Kumar Singh stated that if immediate action is not taken to replace transformers, install LT wires, and ensure a regular power supply, the farmers will be compelled to launch a protest. The application bears the signatures of dozens of farmers, including Surendra Singh, Madan Singh, Vimal Kumar, Rajendra Kumar, Ashwani Kumar, Gorakh Kushwaha, Ram Layak Singh, Badri Singh Kushwaha, Rinku Kumar, Arun Kushwaha, Parshuram Singh, Pramod Kumar, Hareram Kushwaha, Mukesh Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Tej Narayan Yadav, Nandji Yadav, Ramchandra Yadav, Parveen Yadav (alias Chhotak), Ajay Yadav, Vijay Bahadur Singh, Bhikhari Singh, Ramdhyan Singh, Shivdhyan Singh, and Dharmdev Singh.
