ARA-----------------------------Even with strict instructions from the Chief Secretary, some executive assistants in Bihar’s Panchayats are still working on deputation in various other offices instead of providing their services at their assigned Panchayat offices. The general public is bearing the brunt of this, facing difficulties even for minor tasks.

The most pressing question is: when the Chief Secretary has issued clear directives, why are officials at the district level failing to ensure their implementation?

Bhojpur district serves as one such example, where the deputation of executive assistants—and the resulting hardships faced by the public at Panchayat offices—has raised serious concerns.

Now, the question remains: will the concerned officials ensure compliance with the Chief Secretary’s directives? Will the residents of these Panchayats finally be able to access government services at their local Panchayat offices in a timely manner?

The government must ensure the presence of executive assistants in all Panchayats, review unnecessary deputations, and hold the responsible officials accountable for failing to comply with the directives.

Panchayat offices exist to serve the public—not merely to create an appearance of functionality on paper.
