DUMPER DRIVR AND HELPER KILLED

BUXAR--------------------------Early Monday morning, a dumper driver and his helper died on the spot following a severe accident at Pratap Sagar, located on the Patna-Buxar National Highway (NH-922) within the Naya Bhojpur police station area. The incident occurred near a government-installed tubewell close to Pratap Sagar Dera village. The speeding dumper rammed into the rear of a truck parked on the roadside. The impact severely damaged the dumper's cabin, trapping the driver and helper inside, where they both succumbed to their injuries. The deceased have been identified as Ramanand Yadav (25)—son of Ramvilas Yadav from the Maharajganj police station area in Gorakhpur district, Uttar Pradesh—and the helper, Lalit Yadav (22).

Alerted by the sound of the crash, a large number of villagers rushed to the scene and engaged in rescue efforts. They also informed the local police. Personnel from the Naya Bhojpur police station arrived at the site, and a JCB machine was used to cut open the cabin and retrieve the trapped occupants. It is suspected that the dumper driver may have dozed off, causing the vehicle to collide with the parked truck and resulting in this tragic accident. It is worth noting that road accidents frequently occur on NH-922 in the Pratap Sagar area. The Station House Officer (SHO) in-charge of Naya Bhojpur confirmed the incident, stating that the families of the deceased are being notified and the process of conducting an inquest and sending the bodies for post-mortem examinations is underway.
