ARA----------------------------A major police action at Jain College Hostel in Ara has left hundreds of students in difficulty after the premises were sealed. Under the leadership of Bhojpur Superintendent of Police Awadhesh Dixit, police conducted a nearly seven-hour-long raid based on secret information. During the search, one pistol and two live cartridges were recovered, and six persons were taken into custody. Following the operation, the hostel was sealed by the administration.
The sealing of the hostel created serious problems for students, many of whom come from rural areas to study in Ara. With no alternative accommodation readily available, their studies and daily routine were disrupted.
Dinara MLA and Lok Janshakti Party leader Alok Kumar Singh stepped in to support the students. He held discussions with the Superintendent of Police and the District Magistrate. The MLA strongly objected to sealing the entire hostel because of the alleged involvement of only a few students. He pointed out that over the last 50 years, the hostel (also referred to as Nutan Chhatravas) has produced many successful students, including IAS and IPS officers, and has contributed significantly to the state and the country.
Alok Kumar Singh demanded that the hostel be reopened at the earliest. He said the authorities had given an assurance that the hostel would be opened by Monday or Tuesday. The MLA emphasised that while action must be taken against those found guilty, the future of hundreds of innocent students should not be jeopardised. He continues to monitor the situation closely.
