CONGRESS RAISES ‘VOTE BACHAO, DESH BACHAO SLOGAN

ARA-------------------------AICC observer Vishwa Ranjan Mahanti addressed a press conference at the Congress Committee office in Shaheed Bhawan, Ara. He raised the slogan “Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao” (Save Vote, Save Country) and demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Mahanti alleged that voters’ votes are not safe and questioned the transparency of the electoral process, claiming the CEC was acting like an agent of a political party rather than an independent constitutional authority.

He linked the campaign to earlier efforts by Rahul Gandhi during the Voter Rights Yatra that began in Sasaram. Mahanti said the fight is not for power but for the dignity of the Constitution and the soul of democracy. He appealed to media and the public of Bhojpur to join.

Congress and INDIA alliance workers from the district are preparing to participate in a large rally planned for 1 November at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Thousands are expected to travel by train, bus, and other means. Mahanti stated the struggle would continue in both the courts and the court of public opinion until action is taken.
