CONGMEN BURNT EFFIGY OF THE PM

ARA----------------------------Today, on July 22, 2026, the Bhojpur District Congress Committee—led by District President Dr. Shridhar Tiwari—organized a protest march against the Modi government to condemn the arrest of popular leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and Congress General Secretary and MP, Priyanka Gandhi. The two leaders had been detained by the "dictatorial and anti-youth" Modi government while protesting outside the Prime Minister's residence. They were demanding the resignations of Home Minister Amit Shah and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over issues such as the lathi-charge on students, paper leaks, and widespread irregularities in the NEET examination, as well as calling for a parliamentary discussion on these burning issues. Hundreds of Congress workers and senior party members participated in the event, which culminated in the burning of effigies of Modi, Amit Shah, and Dharmendra Pradhan. District President Dr. Shridhar Tiwari stated that the Modi government ruling at the Centre is hostile towards students, the youth, and farmers. Since the Modi government took office, question papers for approximately 152 examinations have been leaked. While Congress leaders are championing the cause of students across the country, the boastful Modi government is resorting to lathi-charges against them. The government has failed to ensure timely examinations and results; instead, paper leaks have become the norm, inflicting a heavy financial burden on students and youth from poor, farming, and middle-class backgrounds. The Congress party demands the immediate resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and insists on a parliamentary debate regarding the examination irregularities and systemic failures that have jeopardized the futures of lakhs of students. Furthermore, the party demands the immediate withdrawal of all FIRs and criminal cases registered against students and peaceful protesters during the demonstration in New Delhi, and insists on guarantees that all future examinations will be conducted on schedule and results declared without any paper leaks.
