SASARAM----------------------------Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday inaugurated the newly constructed two-lane Sasaram Bypass road, built at a cost of ₹122.39 crore. The bypass stretches from Beda to Mokar and includes a road-over-bridge (ROB)/bridge over the irrigation canal embankment.
Unveiling the foundation plaque, the Chief Minister said the new bypass would ease traffic congestion in Sasaram city, provide better connectivity to residents, and give a boost to the economic and social development of the region.
After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected a renovated pond located near the Sasaram Bypass under the Kayakalp campaign. He reviewed the restoration, cleaning and water-conservation works carried out at the pond and directed officials to ensure better maintenance of water bodies.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also launched the ‘Rohtas Jal Sanjeevani’ campaign under the Kayakalp initiative. The campaign aims to restore, clean and regularly maintain ponds, tanks, reservoirs and other water sources across Rohtas district so that maximum rainwater can be harvested and conserved. Special emphasis will be placed on rejuvenating the district’s traditional and important water bodies.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure regular cleaning and upkeep of water sources in the district. He stressed that ponds, tanks and reservoirs must be kept free from encroachment and pollution, and that local people’s participation should be ensured for their conservation. Protecting and rejuvenating water sources, he said, would secure water availability for the present as well as for future generations.
The programme was attended by Food and Consumer Protection Minister and Rohtas District In-charge Minister Ashok Choudhary, Industry and Sports Minister Shreyasi Singh, MLAs Vashishtha Singh and Murari Prasad Gautam, other public representatives, Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, Director General of Police Preeta Verma, Secretary of the Road Construction Department Pankaj Kumar Pal, Secretary to the Chief Minister Lokesh Kumar Singh, DIG of Shahabad Range Dr. Satya Prakash, District Magistrate Deepak Kumar Mishra, Superintendent of Police Raj, and other senior officials.
Bihar to Play Leading Role in Realising Developed India: CM Samrat Choudhary
Earlier in the day, addressing a Yuva Samvad programme organised as part of the Seva Sankalp Yatra at Deo Mangal Auditorium of Gopal Narayan Singh University in Jamuhaar, Rohtas, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said Bihar would play a leading role in realising the vision of a Developed India.
He noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is witnessing all-round development and its economic position is becoming stronger. The Seva Sankalp Yatra, organised to mark 25 years of the Prime Minister’s public service, is travelling from his birthplace in Vadnagar, Gujarat, to his karmabhoomi in Varanasi, where it will conclude the next day.
The Chief Minister said the Bihar government is working with priority on accelerating development, generating employment, creating a harmonious atmosphere and curbing crime. He called upon the youth of Bihar to move forward in a positive direction, emphasising that the key to the future lies in the hands of the young generation.
The programme was also addressed by Organisation Minister Bhikhu Bhai Dalsania, Khajuraho MP Brahm Dutt Sharma, former MP Gopal Narayan Singh, and Bihar Minister Shreyasi Singh. Aurangabad MLA Tribikram Narayan Singh welcomed the Chief Minister with a bouquet. The event was conducted by Jeetendra Singh, State President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha.
