SASARAM--------------------------A dignified event marking 'Bihar Earth Day' was held on Sunday at the St. Joseph School premises, under the instructions of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Stalin Fiddle Kumar and in coordination with the District Education Officer. On this special occasion, the school students reaffirmed their commitment to environmental conservation.

The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the chief guests—Forester Amlesh Kumar and Sharad Kumar—alongside St. Joseph School Director and District President of the Bihar Public School and Children's Welfare Association, Santosh Kumar; Forest Guards Ravi Ranjan Kumar and Dilnarayan Kumar; and School Principal Shivani Kumari.

In accordance with state government directives to promote environmental conservation and a sense of responsibility towards nature, the students took a collective oath based on an "11-point pledge." Through this pledge, students were sensitized to crucial issues such as water conservation, tree plantation, the rejection of plastic, and pollution control.

Addressing the gathering, Forest Division officials emphasized that protecting the Earth and the environment is not solely the government's responsibility but a collective duty shared by all. Witnessing such environmental awareness among the students inspires a sense of positive hope for the future.

Forester Amlesh Kumar addressed the students, stating that safeguarding the Earth is a moral responsibility and that children are the greatest catalysts for this change. School Director Santosh Kumar and Principal Shivani Kumari commended the Forest Department's initiative and encouraged the students to pledge to plant and nurture at least one sapling in their lives. At the conclusion of the event, photographs of the oath-taking ceremony were taken and forwarded to the Forest Division office for further review and record-keeping.
