HUNDREDS OF TREES CUT
A case of environmental disregard in the name of development has come to light in the Chenari block of the district. During the construction of the Bharat Mala Expressway, the construction company is illegally felling hundreds of lush green trees in the Chenari block area, completely flouting established norms. What is particularly scandalous is the allegation by locals that officials from the Forest Department and the Revenue Department are complicit in this entire affair—a matter that reeks of corruption. Meanwhile, the construction company's negligence is glaringly evident near Bartali in Chenari; the company appears to have no fear of the administration or regard for any regulatory system.

SASARAM-------------------------A case of environmental disregard in the name of development has come to light in the Chenari block of the district. Regulations mandate that ten trees must be planted for every single tree felled, yet here, no official has visited the site, nor has any work been carried out in accordance with the rules.
When questioned about the felling of these trees, the Chenari Forest Ranger stated that the department had previously ordered the construction company to relocate trees with a diameter of less than two feet and to cut down only those exceeding two feet in diameter. However, the most shocking aspect is that the tree felling is proceeding in direct violation of these rules; even trees with a diameter of less than two feet are being chopped down under the cover of darkness, without any fear of administrative consequences. Villagers state, "We try to stop them and ask to see the paperwork, but the company staff simply say they have orders from higher authorities. Forest Department officials visit the site but leave without saying a word."
Sources indicate that there have been irregularities in the tree count as well; trees listed as "dried up" or dead in the official records are, in reality, lush and green on the ground.
The question now arises: who is shielding the company executing this multi-crore project, and why are the concerned departments turning a blind eye?
