ADVOCATE DEVENDRA PRASAD YADAV PASSED AWAY, BHOJPUR MOURNS THE LOSS OF A SENIOR LAWYER AND SOCIAL WORKER

ARA------------------------The legal and social circles of Bhojpur are in deep mourning following the sad demise of senior advocate Devendra Prasad Yadav. A respected figure of the Ara Civil Court, known for his generosity, social commitment and lifelong dedication to public causes, Yadav’s passing has been described as an irreparable loss to the district.

Tributes poured in from colleagues, social organisations and political figures. Many recalled his long association with the Ara Bar Association, where he had served as Vice-President in 1997 alongside fellow advocates. He was also remembered for his active role in the Shahabad Commissionery movement and for having worked as the parliamentary representative of the then Central Minister for Fertilizers and Chemicals, Ram Lakhan Yadav.

His late father, Jhaman Prasad (also referred to as Jhawan Babu), had been a two-time MLA from Sandesh and was himself a respected public figure whose contributions to Bhojpur society are still recalled with respect. The family’s long-standing social engagement has left a lasting imprint on the region.

A condolence meeting was held at the Ara Civil Court, where advocates observed two minutes of silence for the peace of the departed soul. Speakers recalled Yadav’s personality, his guiding role in society and his reputation as a “Padayatri” (one known for walking among the people). After the meeting, advocates refrained from participating in court proceedings as a mark of respect.

YHAI Bhojpur unit, of which Yadav was one of the founding members and a former president, also paid heartfelt tributes. Members noted that the organisation itself had started from his home and described him as a big brother and guiding force whose absence would be deeply felt.

Expressing profound grief, one senior colleague wrote that Yadav’s warm nature, social concern and selfless service would always be remembered. Prayers were offered for the eternal peace of the departed soul and for strength to the bereaved family. Many also announced their intention to visit the family residence in Ara to personally convey condolences.

The untimely departure of Advocate Devendra Prasad Yadav has left a void in the legal fraternity and the social life of Bhojpur that will be hard to fill.
