ARA-------------------------A truck struck a woman riding a motorcycle on the Doriganj Bridge—located on the Ara-Chhapra four-lane highway within the Doriganj police station area of Saran (Chhapra) district—late Tuesday evening. She died in the accident; she succumbed to her injuries while being transported to Ara Sadar Hospital for treatment. According to reports, the deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Prabhavati Devi, wife of Prabhu Paswan and a resident of Ward No. 4, Babura (under the Babura police station area).
Her son, Nitish Kumar, stated that a religious ceremony (*puja*) had been organized at his mother's maternal home on Tuesday to celebrate his maternal aunt's eldest son securing a job in the Army. She had traveled to her maternal home in Musepur village, Saran (Chhapra) district, that morning to attend the event. Late Tuesday evening, she was returning on a motorcycle with her sister's son, Sonu.
While crossing the Doriganj bridge, a truck approaching from behind collided with their motorcycle. She fell off the bike and sustained severe injuries. Family members rushed her to Sadar Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared her dead upon examination. Subsequently, the police conducted a post-mortem examination of the body.
The deceased is survived by two daughters—Kajal Kumari and Anjali Kumari—and two sons—Nitish Kumar and Amarjit Kumar. The incident has plunged the family into deep grief, and the family members are inconsolable.
