THROAT OF AN ELDERLY PERSON SLIT

ARA------------------------In Bhadenya village, under the Dhobaha police station area, an assailant launched a deadly attack on an elderly man sleeping outside his house during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, slitting his throat with a sharp weapon. A scuffle ensued between the assailant and the elderly man during the incident. Subsequently, his family rushed him to Sadar Hospital in critical condition for treatment.

The incident caused a stir in the village and surrounding areas. Upon receiving the information, the local police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. Police recovered a sickle and a slipper belonging to a suspect from the site.

According to reports, the injured man is 70-year-old Sadanand Singh, a resident of Ward No. 2, Bhadenya village (Dhobaha police station area). He is a farmer by profession. Sadanand Singh stated that on Monday night, after tying up his cattle and having dinner, he was sleeping on a cot outside his house.

Around 1:00 AM (during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday), an assailant armed with a sharp weapon approached and attempted to slit his throat. He woke up and managed to grab the attacker's hand. The assailant then dropped the weapon and fled the scene.

Hearing his cries, family members rushed out and took him to Sadar Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the injured Sadanand Singh has categorically denied having any enmity or ongoing disputes with anyone. The motive behind the attack remains unclear. The police are currently investigating the matter.
