BHABHUA------------------------------A heart-wrenching murder case has come to light in Kaimur, Bihar. Here, the younger brother, Vikas Gupta—along with his accomplices—brutally murdered his elder brother, his sister-in-law, and their two innocent children. The bodies were dismembered and dumped into various rivers and canals, packed inside suitcases and sacks.

Police obtained a crucial lead regarding the four headless bodies found in a river thanks to an Anganwadi uniform. In Kaimur, Bihar, a brother committed a heinous crime that has brought shame upon familial bonds. In Daharak village of Ramgarh, the younger brother ruthlessly murdered his own elder brother—Krishna Murari Gupta—along with his wife and two children, hacking them to death with sharp-edged weapons. The nature of this murder was so gruesome that, in an attempt to conceal the evidence, the accused severed the heads from all four bodies. They then stuffed the torsos into suitcases and sacks and threw them into the river. The crime came to light only after the police recovered the headless bodies from the river and canals. The prime accused—the brother—was apprehended in Madhya Pradesh.

This sensational crime saga began on May 10, when two suitcases containing headless bodies were discovered in the Panserva section of the Durgavati River, located along the Chausa-Mohania NH-319A. Exactly two days later, additional body parts were recovered from two sacks near the culvert of the Abhaide Vishwakarma Pump Canal. The discovery of four headless bodies simultaneously sent shockwaves through the Kaimur police department; consequently, an SIT (Special Investigation Team), a dog squad, and FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) teams were immediately deployed to unravel the mystery. During the investigation, a young girl's Anganwadi uniform was found near the bodies, which proved to be the most significant turning point in the case.

The subsequent investigation revealed that Kriti—the daughter of Krishna Murari Gupta from Daharak village—had not attended her Anganwadi center since May 6. •  The lock on Krishna Murari's sealed house was broken open in the presence of SP Harimohan Shukla and SDPO Pradeep Kumar. Upon entering the house, the police encountered bloodstains and a pervasive foul odor.

According to villagers, the deceased, Krishna Murari Gupta, was the eldest of four brothers and possessed a highly contentious nature. He frequently quarreled with his brothers and was allegedly preventing them from getting married. According to police records, Krishna Murari himself had a criminal history; he had previously served jail time in 2020 on charges of murdering his own brother-in-law, Suraj Gupta. This very family feud and long-standing dispute became the primary motive behind this massacre.

With the aid of mobile surveillance, the prime accused—his brother, Vikas Kumar Gupta—was arrested in Madhya Pradesh. Following police interrogation, the severed heads of a man and a woman were recovered from the banks of the Durgavati River near Akodhi.

Mohania SDPO Pradeep Kumar stated that the prime accused, Vikas Kumar Gupta, was apprehended in Madhya Pradesh through mobile surveillance. Subsequent to police questioning, the severed heads of a male and a female victim were recovered from the banks of the Durgavati River near Akodhi. Police sources believe that Vikas executed this heinous massacre in collusion with three or four accomplices; police raids are currently underway to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy. Furthermore, a search operation utilizing divers is being conducted in the river to locate the heads of the remaining two children.
