Vijay Takes Oath as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Marks Beginning of a New TVK Era

Tamil Nadu witnessed a historic political shift on Sunday as actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay took oath as the Chief Minister of the state. The grand swearing-in ceremony was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, where Governor Rajendra Arlekar administered the oath of office and secrecy to Vijay along with nine ministers.

With Vijay assuming office, Tamil Nadu politics has entered a new phase after decades of dominance by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. The rise of Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam is being seen as a major transformation in the state’s political landscape.

Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi was also present at the event.
