US-IRAN STANDOFFF: TRUMP’S WARNING, IRAN’S COUNTER THREAT

PATNA--------------------------Tensions between the United States and Iran over the Strait of Hormuz have flared up once again. US President Donald Trump, reportedly tightening the blockade, has issued a warning stating that if any Iranian vessel approaches the US cordon, it will be immediately destroyed. On social media, Trump claimed that the Iranian Navy has suffered heavy damage and that the US stands ready to counter any threat.

In response, Iran has adopted a tough stance, threatening to target the ports of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Oman—located in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman—should pressure be exerted in the Strait of Hormuz.

International reactions to this dispute have also emerged. Russia has voiced its opposition to the blockade, while the European Union has called for the restoration of maritime traffic. A point of relief for India is that Iran has provided assurances regarding the safety and security of Indian vessels.

The escalating tension in the Strait of Hormuz—a vital conduit for global oil supplies—has become a cause for concern for both the global economy and the energy market.
