DELHI-------------------------On Tuesday, the United States launched a bombing attack on an Iranian nuclear facility. US President Donald Trump also released video footage of the attack. However, Iran has not officially confirmed the incident. Meanwhile, in retaliation, Iran attacked a Kuwaiti tanker carrying oil in the Persian Gulf, causing it to catch fire.

According to reports, the tanker was carrying 1.2 million barrels of Saudi crude oil and 800,000 barrels of Kuwaiti crude oil. Satellite imagery suggests that just prior to the attack on the Iranian nuclear facility, 18 containers filled with uranium had been delivered to the site. On the other hand, the Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters of the Revolutionary Guards has once again issued a warning to the US regarding any potential ground military operations. Ibrahim Zolfaghari stated that the legs of any aggressor who sets foot on Iranian soil would be severed.

Trump asserted that the US has achieved its primary military objectives by degrading Iran's naval capabilities and missile stockpiles. Consequently, rather than engaging in a prolonged military campaign to open the Strait of Hormuz, the focus should now shift toward restoring trade through diplomatic pressure. The White House also stated that the duration of the military operation was intended to be limited from the very outset. On Truth Social, Trump took aim at NATO nations, stating that countries like Britain—which are currently unable to transport oil through the Strait of Hormuz—should purchase oil from the United States, as the US possesses ample reserves. He argued that anyone in need of oil must demonstrate courage, force the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and then proceed to purchase the oil. Trump further remarked that nations must now learn to fight their own battles; the US will not come to their aid, just as they did not come to the aid of the US. Italy Refuses to Grant Access to Military Bases

Following Spain, Italy has also refused to grant the United States permission to utilize its military bases for the ongoing military conflict against Iran. Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto made this decision after receiving information that several U.S. bomber aircraft intended to land at the Sigonella Naval Air Base in Sicily while en route to West Asia. However, the U.S. Embassy in Italy has offered no comment on the matter.

France refused to grant permission for aircraft carrying weapons—being sent from the U.S. to Israel for use in the war against Iran—to pass through its airspace. Following this refusal, U.S. President Trump stated that the United States would "remember this."

Speaking to journalists at his residence in Castel Gandolfo, near Rome, on Tuesday, Pope Leo urged U.S. President Donald Trump to seek an alternative path to end the war with Iran. He stated, "I have been informed that President Trump recently said he wishes to end the war. It is to be hoped that he is indeed seeking a way to exit this conflict."
