PATNA--------------------------Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inspected the Kurji and Anandpuri drains in Patna. He directed them to expedite the completion of the drain paving and road construction work.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today inspected the Kurji drain (Rajiv Nagar drain) and Anandpuri drain construction projects being built near Rajiv Nagar on Ashiana Digha Road in Patna. During the inspection, he directed officials to expedite the completion of these works.
The Chief Minister stated that these drains are being paved and a road is being constructed over them. Upon completion, these projects will not only solve the problem of waterlogging but will also facilitate smooth traffic movement by constructing a two-lane road over the drain. Furthermore, the city will also appear cleaner and more organized.
He stated that during the Pragati Yatra on February 21, 2025, development works in Patna district were reviewed. At the same time, he inspected the Anandpuri drain and Kurji drain, where a large number of local people were present. Recognizing the local residents' concerns, he directed officials to repair these drains and construct roads to facilitate public transportation. Expressing satisfaction, the Chief Minister stated that work on these drains is underway and will be completed soon.
The Kurji drain is a crucial drain for Patna city's drainage system. Its length is 4.28 kilometers, starting from Dicha Ashiana Road and ending at the Kurji Drainage Pumping Station. The drain is being paved and a road is being constructed over it.
The Anandpuri drain is also crucial for the city's drainage system. Its length is approximately 4 kilometers, starting from Baba Chowk, passing near Atal Path and A.N. College, and ending at the Rajapur Bridge Drainage Pumping Station. The work of paving and constructing a road over the Anandpuri drain is also underway.
