PATNA--------------------------Upon receiving information about the presence of terrorists, security agencies were alerted, and an ATS team was called to the scene. The entire complex was cordoned off.
Panic erupted at Patna's Hotel Taj City Centre on Monday morning when three masked men were seen entering the hotel premises with an object resembling a hand grenade. This sudden incident spread panic throughout the hotel, making the atmosphere appear as if a major terrorist attack had occurred. According to eyewitnesses, the masked suspects quickly entered the hotel.
Upon receiving information about the presence of terrorists, security agencies were alerted, and an ATS team was called to the scene. The entire complex was cordoned off, and people were evacuated to safety.
However, it later became clear that this was not an actual terrorist attack, but a mock drill conducted by security agencies. The exercise was aimed at testing the quick response capabilities of the hotel staff, local police and ATS and to examine their preparedness to deal with any possible emergency.
Officials said such mock drills strengthen security arrangements and help reduce loss of life and property in emergency situations.
