SWEEPER DIED, PROTEST FOR COMPENSATION
Nagar Panchayat sweeper Shambhu Dom died tragically after being hit by a train on the down line of DFCCIL near Bhabuan Road railway station in Mohaniya. The deceased was a resident of Muhurta village of Kudhni police station area of Kaimur district. After the incident, on Thursday the family members reached the Nagar Panchayat office with the dead body and sat on a strike demanding a job and proper compensation for the dependents of the deceased. Family members said that Shambhu Dom was the only earning member of the family. Due to his demise, the family is facing a serious livelihood crisis.

The family members demanded from the Nagar Panchayat administration to provide job to the wife or son of the deceased on compassionate grounds as well as provide proper financial assistance. During this time, a crowd of people gathered in the Nagar Panchayat office premises for a long time and in support of the family members, the local people also demanded immediate action from the administration. At present, efforts were made by the administration to convince the family members.
