The Rohtas district administration has appealed to the public to exercise special caution to protect themselves from the impact of hot winds and heatwaves. People have been advised to remain vigilant and follow necessary guidelines to avoid the adverse effects of the heatwave and extreme heat.
Given the current weather conditions, children, the elderly, pregnant women, and the sick need to exercise extra caution.
Drink plenty of water during the hot weather and prevent dehydration. Wear light-colored, loose-fitting cotton clothing. Consume a light and nutritious diet, including water-rich fruits like watermelon and muskmelon. Additionally, it is advised to include traditional foods such as *sattu*, mint, fennel, and *khus* (vetiver) in the daily diet.
Seek immediate medical advice if anyone experiences dizziness, extreme weakness, headache, or feels unwell. The administration has stated that key symptoms of heatstroke include dizziness, anxiety, rapid heartbeat, excessive sweating, headache, fainting, high fever, the skin becoming extremely hot to the touch, and nausea. One should not be negligent if such symptoms appear and must seek immediate medical attention. Advice has also been given not to leave children or pets alone in parked vehicles, to keep homes and workplaces as cool as possible, and to carry a water bottle when stepping out.
