SSC GD Exam Cancelled at Multiple Centres in UP, Bihar; Fresh Dates to Be Announced Soon

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has cancelled the SSC GD Constable examination at several centres in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar due to seating capacity issues and technical problems. Revised examination dates for affected candidates will be announced shortly.

According to SSC, the exam was cancelled at centres located in Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Muzaffarpur. The commission stated that all affected candidates will be allowed to appear in the rescheduled examination.

In an official notification, SSC said:

> “The examination for all affected candidates will be rescheduled on a forthcoming exam date. Admit cards for all affected candidates will be made available on the SSC-HQ website in due course. Candidates are advised to regularly check the website and download fresh admit cards as per the revised schedule.”

Apart from seating issues, the examination was also cancelled at an exam centre in Prayagraj due to technical reasons. The cancellation affected all three shifts at Sunita Singh Sita Singh Mahila Mahavidyalaya, located near Jain Temple on the Varanasi Highway in Jhunsi.

### Candidates Protest, Vandalise Exam Centre

At the iTech Zone Centre in Andawa, Prayagraj, several candidates allegedly vandalised the examination premises after learning that the seating capacity had been exceeded. Reports stated that computers, CPUs, laptops, chairs and other furniture inside the examination hall were damaged.

The SSC Central Region later issued a notice informing candidates about the postponement of the second and third shifts, after which the crowd dispersed.

Sources said the SSC had assigned examination management responsibilities to Bengaluru-based company Eduquity Career Technologies Pvt. Ltd..

Officials at the centre revealed that although only 650 computer systems were available, more than 1,000 candidates were allotted in both the second and third shifts. The second shift reportedly had 1,035 candidates against a capacity of 505, while the third shift had 1,034 candidates against a capacity of 495.

Centre administrators claimed they received candidate allocation details via email only a day before the examination.
