SASARAM-------------------------Incidents of theft in Bihar temples are continuously being reported. Now even gods are not safe. In the latest case, a theft has occurred from the Bakas Baba Temple in Berkap village in the Darihat area of Rohtas district. The Ashtadhatu idol of the snake god, with its gold eye embedded in it, was stolen from the Bakas Baba temple. The theft has caused considerable anger among the villagers.

How the Ashtadhatu Idol Disappeared: It is said that when villagers arrived at the temple in the morning to worship, they noticed that the idol of the snake god was missing from its place. The news of the disappearance of the eight-metal idol of the snake god from the temple spread like wildfire in the village. A large crowd of people gathered near the temple, wondering who could have stolen the idol. Sindhu Singh, a village social worker, condemned the theft. She stated that the Baksh Baba temple is visited by a large crowd of devotees from around the village every Nag Panchami. The theft of the metal idol of the snake god from the temple has caused considerable anger among the villagers. She stated that a written complaint has been filed with the nearest police station.

However, the Darihat Police Station Officer was contacted in this regard. He stated that no such written complaint has been received at this time. Appropriate action will be taken as soon as the complaint is received. It is worth noting that on March 16th, cunning thieves broke into the Mahavir Temple in the Dalmianagar area and stole the silver crowns of Lord Shiva, Parvati, and Ganesha. But in that case the police are still empty handed and have not been able to arrest the vicious thieves till now.
