SASARAM----------------------The Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) Division conducted a special ticket checking drive on July 15 and 16, 2026, to effectively curb ticketless and irregular travel. Intensive checks were carried out over the two-day campaign at DDU Junction, Gaya, Dehri-on-Sone, and Sasaram stations, as well as along the Dehri-on-Sone–Japla rail section. During the drive, action was taken against a total of 1,058 passengers, and a sum of ₹8,41,885 was collected... A fine was collected.

On July 15, DDU Junction, Gaya, Dehri-on-Sone, and... A simultaneous 'fortress' ticket-checking drive was conducted at Sasaram stations. Joint teams comprising the Commercial Department, Railway Protection Force (RPF), and Government Railway Police (GRP) carried out extensive checks across platforms, foot-over-bridges, entry and exit gates, as well as on various trains. During this operation, 867 passengers were found traveling without tickets or valid travel authorization, and fines totaling ₹7,35,220 were collected from them.

A special ticket-checking drive was also conducted on the Dehri-on-Sone–Japla rail section on July 16. Inspections across various stations and trains revealed 191 passengers traveling without tickets or proper authorization; fines amounting to ₹1,06,665 were collected from them.

Across the drives conducted on both days, the Railways took action in a total of 1,058 cases and collected ₹8,41,885 in fines. The objective of the campaign was to effectively curb ticketless travel and raise awareness among passengers about the importance of traveling with valid tickets.

The railway administration has appealed to passengers to travel only with valid tickets purchased through ticket counters, the official railway website, the RailOne mobile app, or Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs). The Railways has clarified that traveling without a ticket is a punishable offense under the Railways Act; therefore, all passengers should adhere to the rules and travel with a valid ticket.
