The Railway Protection Force (RPF) post at Dehri-on-Sone arrested a cunning thief today, July 17, 2026, for stealing mobile phones from passengers on trains within the station premises. Two stolen mobile phones, with an estimated value of ₹25,000, were recovered from his possession.

SASARAM-------------------------The Railway Protection Force (RPF) post at Dehri-on-Sone arrested a cunning thief today, July 17, 2026, for stealing mobile phones from passengers on trains within the station premises. Two stolen mobile phones, with an estimated value of ₹25,000, were recovered from his possession.
Under the supervision of Inspector-in-Charge Raj Kishore Kachhwaha, ASI Manoj Kumar Chaudhary, Head Constable Ram Vilas, and Constable Umesh Kumar Singh were patrolling and monitoring for criminal activities in the station area. During this time, a man was spotted loitering suspiciously near the stairs of the western foot-over bridge connecting platforms 2 and 3.
A search revealed two mobile phones in his possession. Upon questioning, the accused identified himself as Bablu Paswan (aged approximately 35 years; son of the late Bajrangi Paswan; resident of Shahpur, Chainpur Police Station, Palamu district, Jharkhand). The accused admitted to stealing both mobile phones from passengers traveling on trains.
After completing the necessary formalities on-site, the RPF handed over the accused, along with the two mobile phones, to the Rail Police Station at Dehri-on-Sone for further action. A case has been registered at the Rail Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the accused has been remanded to judicial custody. This action by the RPF has boosted the sense of security among passengers at the station.
