RJD MLA GRANTED ANTICIPATORY BAIL

PATNA--------------------------The Patna High Court granted significant relief to Osama Shahab—son of former MP Mohammad Shahabuddin and MLA from Raghunathpur—by granting him anticipatory bail. Justice Khatim Reza accepted the plea for anticipatory bail after hearing all parties involved.

During the previous hearing, the court had stayed any coercive action against Osama Shahab and had also called for the case diary. Advocate Naresh Dixit, representing the petitioner, informed the court that a title suit regarding the land in question is currently pending in the Siwan Court. He stated that the applicant had purchased the disputed land.

He noted that the complainant also claims to have purchased the land; therefore, only the civil court can determine the rightful owner. He argued that construction work on the land cannot proceed until the ownership is established.

Citing the registered FIR, he pointed out that no specific allegation had been leveled against the MLA; the FIR merely mentions a conversation over a mobile phone.

He emphasized that the FIR contains no allegation of threats being issued. After hearing the arguments presented on behalf of the petitioner, the court granted the anticipatory bail plea, providing major relief to the MLA.
