POLICE FAILED TO  CURB THIEVES

BHABHUA----------------------------Incidents of theft are continuously on the rise within the jurisdiction of the Kudra Police Station in Kaimur district. The latest incident occurred in Devradh Khurd village, located within the station's limits, where unidentified thieves executed a major burglary at two homes on Tuesday night, raising serious questions regarding the police's operational efficiency. The audacious thieves locked the residents inside their homes from the outside, then calmly made off with jewelry, clothing, and other valuables worth lakhs of rupees before fleeing the scene. Following the incident, an atmosphere of panic and outrage prevails in the village. Villagers allege that while theft incidents are occurring frequently in the area, the police have so far proven ineffective in curbing the activities of these thieves. Consequently, a growing sense of insecurity is taking root among the residents.

One of the victims, Pandit Dayashankar Singh, stated that all family members were asleep inside the house during the night. During this time, the thieves cunningly locked all the doors of the house from the outside to ensure that no one could exit. Subsequently, the thieves entered the house and stole items—including earrings, gold chains, and clothing—valued at lakhs of rupees, before making their escape. When the family members woke up in the morning, they discovered that the doors were locked from the outside. It was only after somehow managing to get out that they realized a burglary had taken place.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the Kudra Police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation into the matter. Additionally—as is customary in such cases—a police dog squad team arrived in the village and inspected the crime scene. The police are currently questioning local residents and are actively working to identify the thieves.

The villagers have demanded that the police administration increase night patrols in the area and take immediate steps to put an end to these theft incidents. Residents warn that if strict action is not taken in a timely manner, the audacity of these criminals could grow even further. In a broader sense, while the popular adage suggests that "ninety-nine out of a hundred may be dishonest, yet India remains a great nation," the reality is that the administration—including the Bihar government—has failed to curb crimes such as house-breaking, robbery, smuggling, and illegal extortion.
