In connection with this case, the police have named two individuals—including a young woman—as accused, while also implicating 30 to 40 unidentified persons. Acting swiftly, the police arrested two individuals, including the young woman. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sanjay Rai and Kanchan Kumari, both residents of Dhundhua village. Sanjay Rai is the prime and named accused in this case. An FIR (First Information Report) has been registered based on a written complaint submitted by Sub-Inspector Dharmendra Kumar. Based on this complaint, two individuals—including Sanjay Rai—have been specifically named as accused, while thirty to forty unidentified persons have also been charged.
It is pertinent to note that the Mufassil Police had gone to Dhundhua village to conduct a raid aimed at arresting individuals accused of assault, stemming from a prior dispute involving the elopement of a girl. During the raid, the accused party allegedly hurled stones at the police, leveling counter-allegations that the officers had attempted to run over two young women of the household with their vehicle and had assaulted an elderly man. Two vehicles belonging to the Mufassil Police Station sustained damage during the incident, and a female police constable also sustained injuries. Following these events, the police registered an FIR and proceeded to arrest two of the accused individuals.
