PATNA---------------------------The Jan Suraaj Party has fielded Prashant Kishor as its candidate for the Bankipur Assembly by-election. This announcement was made by the party's state president, Manoj Bharti, during a press conference. Speaking at the party's Patna office, Bharti stated that the core committee had unanimously decided that Prashant Kishor would represent the Jan Suraaj Party in the Bankipur by-election.
Following this, Prashant Kishor remarked that the Bankipur by-election... We will do whatever it takes to defeat the BJP. PK said, "I extend my heartfelt thanks to all the party office-bearers and workers who have entrusted me with this responsibility and placed their faith in me. First and foremost, I want to assure you that for the past four years, *Jan Suraaj* has been my life. I have no other objective for at least the next ten years—until this vision is fully realized."
PK further stated, "I view the responsibility of contesting the election from Bankipur as a step in that very direction. After the results were declared, the lakhs of people who had connected with the vision and efforts of *Jan Suraaj* felt a sense of sadness and disappointment. People believe that a victory for *Jan Suraaj* in the Bankipur election would provide a massive boost to reviving the movement for transforming Bihar. I accept this responsibility with sincerity and thank all the leaders and workers. I also acknowledge the voters of Bankipur who, over the past month or so—whether personally or through our workers—have insisted that Prashant Kishor must step into the electoral fray himself to bring about change in Bihar. I will sincerely align myself with this sentiment and strive to contest the Bankipur election. If I receive your blessings and win, I assure you that I will work in accordance with your sentiments, wishes, and expectations."
If you want to change the course of Bihar's politics, ensure *Jan Suraaj*'s victory in Bankipur: Prashant Kishor.
Prashant Kishor remarked, "The Bankipur election will serve as a public referendum on the performance, conduct, character, public image, policies, and governance of the NDA government, which has been in power for six months under the leadership of Samrat Chaudhary. If the BJP wins the Bankipur election, I will have no hesitation in accepting that the people of Bihar endorse their policies, their leadership, and their government." If the BJP loses in Bankipur, the government must acknowledge that the nature of its conduct, character, and public image—as well as the way it is running the administration—is, to some extent, unacceptable to the people of Bihar. Samrat Chaudhary has become a BJP Chief Minister for the first time; we have previously stated clearly in press conferences that we have no faith in his conduct, character, or public image. A vast section of the Bihari public does not trust him; he was not elected to this position but was appointed Chief Minister through a back-door process. It was Nitish Kumar whom the people had elected as Chief Minister. The people of Bankipur—who are among the most enlightened and prosperous in Bihar—bear the responsibility of electing the most capable candidate and delivering a verdict on the government and its policies. While the outcome of this seat may not change the government itself, it will certainly alter the course of Bihar's politics. If you wish to change the direction of politics in Bihar, ensure the victory of Jan Suraaj in Bankipur.
Prominent figures present on the occasion included Rambali Chandravanshi, Kishore Kumar Munna, KC Sinha, MLC Afaque Ahmed, Kumar Saurav, Subhash Kushwaha, Sarwar Ali, Indu Sinha, Obaidur Rahman, JP Singh, and Rakesh Patel, among others.
