SASARAM-----------------------A suspected fraudster, who swindled lakhs of rupees from unemployed youths by promising them jobs in the Health Department, was arrested in a joint operation by the Kochas and Kargahar police. The case came to light following FIRs registered at various police stations.

Sudhir Kumar, a resident of Garbhe in the Shahmal Khaira Gram Panchayat, stated that the accused had taken an advance of ₹25,000 and his sister's educational certificates on June 19, promising to secure her a job in the Health Department. The accused had gained their trust by claiming to be a relative of their maternal uncle and had agreed to arrange the job for ₹2 lakh. Kumar reported that when he sought an update on the job two days later, the accused used abusive language. Realizing he had been defrauded, Kumar filed a written complaint at the local police station and provided the accused's mobile number; an FIR was subsequently registered based on this information.

Kargahar Station House Officer (SHO) Mukesh Kumar stated that a similar case had also been registered at the Kochas police station. Police there had conducted a raid in Kochas market to arrest the accused, but he had managed to flee the scene. Subsequently, the Kochas and Kargahar police launched a joint operation and, after a pursuit, arrested the accused near Nado village.

During interrogation, the accused was identified as Anuj Pratap Singh, a resident of Araila village under the Diyara police station area in Bhojpur district. Investigation revealed he was the accused in fraud cases registered at both the Kochas and Kargahar police stations. Officials stated that following interrogation, the accused was produced in court and remanded to judicial custody. Further legal action is underway to recover the defrauded money.
