PHC-IN-CHARGE ARRESTED FOR DRUNKENNESS

SASARAM-------------------------Dr. Abhishek Kundan, the In-charge Medical Officer posted at the Shivsagar Primary Health Centre (PHC), has been arrested for being under the influence of alcohol. Several bottles of liquor were also recovered from his possession.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Maniraj Ranjan stated that a complaint was received on Friday indicating that the in-charge doctor had not been present in his chamber since morning. Acting on the complaint, a surprise inspection of the PHC was conducted.

During the inspection, Dr. Kundan was not found in his chamber. A search was subsequently launched, and he was eventually located at his government residence.

The Shivsagar police conducted a raid at his government residence and recovered several bottles of liquor. An examination confirmed that the doctor was under the influence of alcohol.

The police arrested Dr. Abhishek Kundan for violating the prohibition law. Further legal action is being taken in the matter.

A total ban on alcohol is in force in Bihar. Consequently, the police took action, treating the incident—involving a government official consuming and possessing alcohol—with seriousness.
