ARA---------------------------The rural roads of Jagdishpur, Piro and dozens of surrounding villages of Bhojpur district are facing serious crisis today. Many rural roads including Kaura Mathia-Gyanpura Path, Barnav Path, Dawa Path, Roopbandh Path, Shivpur-Dihra Path, Laharabad Path, Hardiya Path, Kushamha Path have become dilapidated. Due to big potholes, accidents are happening every day and farmers, students, patients, laborers and common pedestrians are facing a lot of problems.

The biggest problem is that drains have not been constructed along most of the roads. Water from houses and streets flows directly onto the roads, causing premature wear of the roads. The situation becomes even more dire during the rainy season. School children, women, elderly and general public have to face difficulties in transportation.

I urge the District Administration, District Magistrate (DM), Sub-Divisional Officer (SDM), Block Development Officer (BDO), Circle Officer (CO) and the concerned police station administration to take the public problems seriously. Due to small problems not being heard and resolved on time, today they are taking the form of big problems.

I demand from the Rural Works Department, Bihar Government that along with road construction and repair, strict instructions should also be given for drain construction. Until a permanent drain is constructed, alternative arrangements for drainage and drainage should be ensured at the Panchayat level. If water does not fall on the roads, the roads will remain safe for a long time and government money will be saved.

In public interest, all dilapidated rural roads of Bhojpur district including Kaura Mathia-Gyanpura road should be immediately surveyed and permanent arrangements for repair, construction of drains and drainage should be ensured.
