INITIATIVE TO ENSURE TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY IN PRIVATE SCHOOLS

PATNA--------------------------The Government of Bihar has taken a significant step aimed at enhancing transparency, curbing arbitrary practices, and safeguarding the interests of students and parents in the state's private schools. Under the new framework, it will now be mandatory for private schools to make complete information regarding their fee structures publicly available.

In accordance with the government's directives, schools will no longer be permitted to arbitrarily hike fees, and the collection of unnecessary charges will also be prohibited. Furthermore, parents will be granted the freedom to purchase textbooks, notebooks, and uniforms from any vendor of their choice, thereby eliminating the pressure to make purchases exclusively from shops designated by the schools.

The new system also explicitly clarifies that, in the event of outstanding fee dues, no student shall be barred from appearing for examinations or from receiving their results. The government has issued a warning that strict action will be taken against any school found to be in violation of these orders.

The government believes that this initiative will render the state's education system more transparent, equitable, and accessible, while simultaneously providing relief to students and parents.

In this regard, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary stated that the government remains steadfastly committed to reforming the education system and protecting the interests of parents.
