ARA---------------------------If 24-hour doctor, nurse, medicine, ambulance, testing, and delivery services are not restored at the Dr. Naveen Chandra Ramgoolam Additional Health Center by February 16, the Civil Surgeon's chamber will be gheraoed (surrounded in protest). A memorandum of demands was submitted to the District Magistrate of Bhojpur through the Medical Officer of Jagdishpur. Thousands of women, men, elderly people, youth, students, laborers, and athletes participated in the protest. The protest was presided over by Tuna Chaubey, the head of Harigaon village, and conducted by Virendra Singh.
Addressing the mass protest, it was asked of the District Magistrate of Bhojpur, the Sub-Divisional Officer of Jagdishpur, and the Civil Surgeon of Bhojpur why, even after 11 months since the inauguration of the Dr. Naveen Chandra Ramgoolam Additional Health Center during the Honorable Chief Minister's progress tour, 24-hour doctor, nurse, medicine, ambulance, testing, and delivery services have not been restored?
The District Magistrate of Bhojpur, the Sub-Divisional Officer of Jagdishpur, and the Civil Surgeon of Bhojpur were accused of negligence and inaction, due to which the Honorable Chief Minister's announcement could not be implemented.
Through the mass protest held to demand the restoration of 24-hour doctor, nurse, medicine, ambulance, testing, and delivery services at the Dr. Naveen Chandra Ramgoolam Additional Health Center in Harigaon, which was inaugurated on February 16, 2025, during the Honorable Chief Minister's progress tour, a memorandum of demands was submitted stating that:
Harigaon village in Jagdishpur block of Bhojpur district is the ancestral village of the Honorable Prime Minister of Mauritius, Dr. Naveen Chandra Ramgoolam. On February 16, 2025, when the Honorable Chief Minister of Bihar visited Harigaon village during his progress tour, he inaugurated the Dr. Naveen Chandra Ramgoolam Additional Health Center, built at a cost of crores of rupees. After the inauguration, it was announced that 24-hour doctor, nurse, medicine, ambulance, testing, and delivery services would be restored at the Dr. Naveen Chandra Ramgoolam Additional Health Center in Harigaon.
Even after 11 months, the Honorable Chief Minister's announcement has not been implemented. Therefore, today, January 4, 2026, through a massive protest at the Dr. Naveen Chandra Ram Ghulam Additional Health Center in Harigaon, we, the rural community, have demanded that 24-hour doctor, nurse, medicine, ambulance, testing, and delivery services be restored at the Dr. Naveen Chandra Ram Ghulam Additional Health Center.
If this demand is not met soon, our next course of action will be a protest and demonstration at the Civil Surgeon's chamber in Bhojpur on February 16. Even after this, if the 24-hour doctor, nurse, medicine, ambulance, testing, and delivery services are not restored as per the Honorable Chief Minister's announcement, we will hold a protest at the residence of the Honorable Chief Minister of Bihar. The government and administration will be solely responsible for any untoward incident that occurs during this protest.
