ARA--------------------------A high-level meeting on road safety was held today via Zoom, presided over by Bhojpur District Magistrate Tanay Sultania, to discuss the installation of height barriers on roads.
The District Magistrate directed that height barriers be installed promptly at more than 100 identified sensitive locations across the district's various subdivisions. These barriers will strictly prevent the unauthorized entry of heavy vehicles into densely populated areas and restricted routes, thereby reducing road accidents and making the local traffic system safer and more organized. In this context, after a detailed review of sensitive routes in the Ara Sadar, Jagdishpur, and Piro subdivisions, the District Magistrate issued strict instructions to the concerned officials to install the height barriers without delay.
Addressing the meeting, District Magistrate Tanay Sultania stated that ensuring effective compliance with road safety regulations is the district administration's top priority. He directed all concerned departments to coordinate with each other and complete the task within the stipulated timeframe. Additionally, clear instructions were issued to the police administration to take strict punitive action against drivers who violate regulations by entering restricted routes. Additionally, he directed that clearly visible reflective stickers be affixed to all barriers so that motorists could spot them from a distance, thereby reducing the likelihood of accidents.
All Sub-Divisional Officers, the District Transport Officer, the Officer-in-Charge of the District Development Branch, the Director (NEP), the District Mineral Development Officer, Executive Engineers from the Rural Works Department (Ara, Piro, and Jagdishpur), and other concerned officials attended this important meeting.
