GRP ARRESTED FOUR MISCREANTS

BUXAR------------------------Acting on incidents involving the theft of passengers' luggage within the railway station area, a joint team comprising the RPF (Railway Protection Force) and GRP (Government Railway Police) has arrested a total of four criminals across two separate cases. The police have also recovered stolen property from their possession.

RPF Inspector-in-Charge Kundan Singh stated that the joint team apprehended two criminals who were attempting to flee after stealing a passenger's luggage from the eastern yard of Buxar station. Personnel from both the RPF and GRP—including GRP In-charge Vikas Kumar—participated in this operation.

The arrested accused have been identified as Mangal (28), son of Shyam Lal, a resident of Kurpiya (Police Station: Khichha, District: Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand); and Ram Chandra Mali (30), son of Rajendra Mali, a resident of Baburbani (Police Station: Koilwar, District: Bhojpur). A woman's purse, an Android mobile phone, and two razor blades were recovered from their possession.

The second incident came to light on March 31, 2026, following a report received from the Danapur Control Room indicating that a theft had occurred aboard Train No. 01144 between Buxar and Ara (BUE-BXR). The criminals had attempted to escape by pulling the emergency chain and jumping off the moving train. Acting swiftly upon receiving this information, the joint RPF-GRP team apprehended both accused individuals.

In this case, the arrested accused have been identified as Raj Kumar (21), son of Anil Kumar, a resident of Patna Sahib (Police Station: Malsalami, District: Patna); and Firdaus Alam (40), son of Niyaz Alam, a resident of Shastri Park, Seelampur (Delhi)—currently residing in Dildarnagar. A mobile phone, ₹6,490 in cash, and a razor blade were recovered from their possession.

Following the completion of necessary legal formalities, the railway police have remanded all the accused individuals to judicial custody. RPF and GRP officials stated that continuous surveillance has been enhanced at stations and on trains to ensure the safety of passengers, and strict action against such criminals will continue.
