ARA--------------------------The local administration has adopted a strict stance against the illegal commercial use and black marketing of domestic LPG cylinders. A surprise raid conducted by the administration on Friday within the Shahpur Nagar Panchayat area created a stir among traders illegally utilizing gas. Under this special drive, led by Block Supply Officer Shambhu Sharan Kumar, various commercial establishments located in the market area underwent intensive inspection.
During this administrative operation, several senior officials and police personnel were present, including the Officer-in-Charge of the Circle (cum Consolidation Officer) Rakesh Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO) Rajesh Malakar, and the Block Public Relations Officer (BPRO). The team visited approximately a dozen establishments—including various restaurants, sweet shops, and eateries—across the Shahpur urban area to verify the legitimacy of the gas cylinders in use.
During the inspection, gross disregard for regulations was discovered at 'Vaishnavi Family Restaurant,' located on the Sarna-Bharauli road. Domestic gas cylinders were being utilized there for commercial purposes—an act that is legally prohibited. The raiding team recovered four filled domestic LPG cylinders from the premises and seized them with immediate effect. Given the gravity of the matter, an FIR has been registered against the restaurant operator under the relevant sections of the law.
Issuing a stern message regarding this matter, administrative officials stated that the commercial use of domestic gas not only constitutes a violation of regulations but also poses significant safety risks. They made it clear that the black marketing of resources intended for consumers would not be tolerated under any circumstances, and that this campaign would continue unabated in the days to come.
According to reliable sources, some shopkeepers had received prior intimation of this operation. Upon receiving news of the strict administrative action taken the previous day in Bihiya and Jagdishpur, several prominent shopkeepers in Shahpur had already removed illegally stored domestic cylinders from their establishments; consequently, evidence was concealed at several locations before the team could even arrive. However, the administration is now keeping a close watch on such suspicious locations.
