ARA--------------------------Dr. Pramod Kumar Rai was elected District President of the Bhojpur unit of the Bihar Secondary Teachers' Association during a by-election held on Sunday at the association's office in Ara. This by-election was conducted to fill the vacancy left by the former District President, Dr. Awadhesh Kumar, who had been posted to Saran district after being selected as a Headmaster through the BPSC recruitment process.

The election process was concluded in a peaceful and transparent atmosphere. The Chief Returning Officer was Satish Kumar Pandey (District Secretary, Rohtas Secondary Teachers' Association), and the Assistant Returning Officer was Rajiv Ranjan Chaturvedi (Headmaster, Higher Secondary School, Bakri).

A total of 27 voters from the district executive committee cast their votes; Dr. Pramod Kumar Rai secured 20 votes, while his rival, Dr. Chandra Prakash (alias Shashi Yadav), received 7 votes. Consequently, Dr. Pramod Kumar Rai was declared the newly elected District President of the Bhojpur District Secondary Teachers' Association with a clear majority.

Following the election, he received congratulations and best wishes from numerous teachers and association office-bearers, including District Secretary Santosh Kumar Singh, former District President Mukteshwar Upadhyay, State Executive Committee member Anand Prakash Pandey, Divisional Vice-President Bhim Rai, and Divisional Treasurer Rakesh Kumar Singh, as well as Kshitish Bhushan Pandey, Asif Ahmed, Ritesh Kumar, Ravi Ojha, Subodh Kumar, Binod Paswan, Karn Vijay Kumar, Premchand Pratap, Ajit Kumar, Rakesh Chaudhary, Dhanesh Kumar, Rupesh Kumar, Jai Prakash Suman, Manoj Mishra, Diwakar Rai, Rishikesh Dubey, Rakesh Lal, Anand Kishore, Abhay Kumar Singh, Ishwar Chandra, Mukesh Kumar, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Murali Manohar, and Alakh Niranjan.

Dr. Pramod Kumar Rai currently serves as the In-charge Headmaster of Gorpa High School. He holds a distinct identity in the district as a staunch advocate for teachers' interests and is known for fearlessly raising issues concerning teachers.

In his post-election address, Dr. Rai stated that he would continue to raise teachers' issues with the utmost seriousness and persistently fight to protect their rights. He stated that teachers would always stand by society through its joys and sorrows and would strive to further strengthen the organization.
