SASARAM----------------------------A truck driver died on the spot in a road accident late Tuesday night on NH-19, near Khurmabad village under the Chenari police station area. Reports indicate that a speeding truck coming from the direction of Kudra collided violently with a stationary tanker, resulting in the driver's immediate death. The deceased has been identified as Ratan Yadav (50), son of Harihar Singh and a resident of Morwa village under the Shivsagar police station area. News of the tragedy caused great distress among the deceased's family members. Upon receiving information about the incident, local police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. Chenari Station House Officer (SHO) Dinesh Malakar stated that police reached the site immediately after being notified; with the help of locals, they managed to extricate the driver, who was trapped in the truck's cabin, after a strenuous effort. The family was promptly informed, and the body was taken into custody and sent to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Both vehicles have been seized, and an investigation is underway.
