ARA------------------------To streamline the Public Distribution System (PDS) in Bhojpur district, District Magistrate Tanay Sultania conducted a surprise inspection on Tuesday of a PDS shop located at Balua, within the Daulatpur Panchayat of Ara Sadar block.

The DM expressed strong displeasure upon finding the shop closed during the inspection and directed the concerned officials to have it opened immediately.

After the shop was opened, the District Magistrate conducted a physical verification of the available food grains and stock. He expressed serious dissatisfaction upon discovering discrepancies between the stock register and the actual food grains available. The DM ordered a detailed investigation into the matter and directed that action be taken in accordance with the rules against those responsible for the irregularities.

During the inspection, the DM also directed that an explanation be sought from the Block Supply Officer (Ara Sadar) regarding this matter. He stated that all PDS shops must open at the scheduled times and that the transparent, timely, and regular distribution of food grains to eligible beneficiaries must be ensured at all costs.

District Magistrate Tanay Sultania stated unequivocally that no negligence, irregularity, or corruption within the Public Distribution System would be tolerated. He warned that strict action, as per the rules, would be taken against anyone found guilty during the investigation.

The DM remarked that ensuring the benefits of the government's public welfare schemes reach the last person in a transparent and accessible manner is the district administration's top priority.
