BUXAR------------------------------On Sunday, as part of a pre-planned program, the Rail Yatri Kalyan Samiti (Rail Passenger Welfare Committee), Dumraon branch, staged a massive one-day sit-in protest at Dumraon station. The protest demanded the comprehensive development of the station, the stoppage of various trains, and the restoration of basic amenities. The protest was jointly presided over by Munna Yadav and Hare Ram Thakur, while the proceedings were conducted by Imran Khan. In addition to National President Dr. Sudhir Kumar Singh, key figures present at the sit-in included Central Committee members Satyaprakash Singh, Kamendra Singh, O.P. Singh, Rasbihari Rai, and Bijendra Singh Yadav; Ex-Servicemen Association District President Ramnath Singh; Sub-divisional President Harishankar Singh; and former Mukhiya Badrivishal Singh. The main demands raised during the one-day sit-in were as follows:

1. Accelerate the construction work of the proposed overbridge at the western railway crossing (gumti) of Dumraon station.

2. Construct a wide foot-overbridge equipped with a roof/shed at Dumraon station.

3. Raise the height of both platforms at Dumraon station to meet standard specifications; ensure basic amenities such as drinking water, toilets, lighting, passenger shelters, and sanitation; and install coach indicator boards on both platforms.

4. Ensure regular deployment of GRP and RPF personnel and curb the activities of illegal vendors and ticket touts.

5. To ensure a corruption-free environment at Dumraon station, no employee or official should be posted at the same location for more than two years.

6. Provide a regular stoppage for the Patna-Kota Express; introduce stoppages for the Jansadharan Express, Sanghmitra Express, Brahmaputra Mail, and Amrit Bharat Express; extend the Capital Express to Buxar with a scheduled stop at Dumraon; and extend the operation of train number 63229R (Varanasi Passenger) up to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction.

7. Construct the Ballia-Dumraon-Dehri railway line.

Hundreds of people participated in the event, including Hemendra Mohan, Abhishek Mehta, Dr. Vandana Bhagat, Om Jyoti Bhagat, Mohan Gupta, Jayant Gaurav, Ravi Kumar, Anuj Singh, Munna Chaubey, Manoj Singh, Virendra Ojha, Sudhanshu Bhagat, Rambabu Kushwaha, Chhote Singh, Umesh Prasad, Dashrath Vidyarthi, Abdul Alim Hashmi, Ravindra Tiwari, Parshuram Prasad, and Akhilesh Kesari.
