SASARAM------------------------Demands are gaining momentum to relocate the Motor Vehicle Accident Claim Tribunal and the Additional Collector's court to the vacant 'Jawahar Court' building within the Dehri Sub-division complex. In this regard, Advocate Umashankar Pandey (alias Mutur Pandey), former President of the Dehri Bar Association, has written to the District Magistrate of Rohtas, urging for an immediate relocation in the public interest.
In his letter (Ref. No. 91/2026, dated 17.07.2026), Advocate Pandey stated that the Jawahar Court in Dehri shifted to a newly constructed building in January. Consequently, the old Jawahar Court building within the Dehri Sub-division complex has remained completely vacant.
Meanwhile, the Motor Vehicle Accident Claim Tribunal and the Additional Collector's court are currently operating from a dilapidated building in Dalmianagar. This office is located approximately 4 kilometers away from the Dehri Jawahar Court.
The advocate noted that litigants, lawyers, and the general public must navigate severe traffic congestion in Dehri Market and Dalmianagar Market daily to commute to and from Dalmianagar. There is also a lack of basic amenities, including parking facilities, causing significant inconvenience to the public.
He argued that relocating these two courts to the vacant court building in the Dehri Sub-division complex would consolidate all judicial facilities in one location. This would not only provide convenience to lawyers and litigants but also greatly facilitate the speedy disposal of cases.
Advocate Pandey has requested the District Magistrate to consider the public interest, the welfare of lawyers, and humanitarian grounds, and to kindly order the immediate relocation of the Motor Vehicle Accident Claim Tribunal and the Additional Collector's court to the vacant court building within the Dehri Sub-division office complex.
