ARA---------------------------Madan Mohan Jha—former President of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee, Member of the Bihar Legislative Council, and the party's leader in the Council—visited Belauti, the village of martyr Bharat Tiwari, accompanied by Dr. Shridhar Tiwari, the District Congress Committee President of Bhojpur. He met the martyr's family and took stock of the entire incident. Speaking to the media afterward, he stated that the Bihar government and its administrative machinery stand completely exposed in this matter; he termed it a killing orchestrated by the administration and declared that the Congress party would vigorously corner the government in both the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council to ensure the guilty police personnel receive the harshest possible punishment, including the death penalty. He alleged that the government intends to cover up this state-sponsored killing by merely setting up an inquiry committee. He questioned the need for further investigation when live evidence exists and local villagers are recounting exactly what they witnessed to the media. He remarked that ever since the "anti-public opinion" Samrat government came to power, Brahmins in Bihar are being targeted just as they are in Uttar Pradesh—a situation the Congress party will never tolerate. He noted that Rahul Gandhi is being kept constantly apprised of the situation and will meet the martyr's family during his visit to Bihar next month. The delegation demanded that the government return the mobile phones belonging to Bharat Tiwari and his family—which had been seized by the administration—and immediately provide compensation of one crore rupees. Key members of the delegation included former MLA Pratima Das and Sudha Mishra from Patna, alongside other prominent figures such as Malti Pandey, Rakesh Tripathi, Nagendra Mishra, Shakti Singh Manan, Arun Ojha, Bhanu Pratap Singh Mukul, Pankaj Ojha, and Kumar Saket Tiwari.
