BHABHUA-------------------------Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar arrived at Naughara—located within the Chainpur block of Kaimur district—as part of his 'Samriddhi Yatra' (Prosperity Journey). During a grand event organized at the venue, he laid the foundation stones for and inaugurated various development schemes worth ₹209 crores aimed at the district's progress. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister launched a scathing attack on the opposition while presenting a blueprint of Bihar's transformative journey.
Addressing the public gathering, Nitish Kumar stated that prior to the NDA government, the condition of Bihar was deplorable. Recalling the days gone by, he remarked, "In the past, people were afraid to step out of their homes after sunset; today, however, development is taking place within a fear-free environment." Highlighting the progress achieved in the sectors of education, roads, electricity, and employment, he announced that a degree college would be established in every block and a medical college in every district across Bihar. For the 'Jeevika Didis' (women associated with the rural livelihood mission), he assured that financial assistance would be increased to ₹2 lakhs, with promises of further expansion in the future.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary lauded the Chief Minister's efforts, noting that Bihar has been on a continuous path of progress for the past 20 years. He informed the gathering that electricity has now reached 2.16 crore households across the state. Discussing the transformation of Kaimur, he observed, "Areas that were once merely dense forests and hills now host engineering and medical colleges." He further announced that a high-security prison would soon be constructed in the region to house hardened criminals.
Other ministers also took the stage to share their views during the event. Agriculture Minister Ram Kripal Yadav asserted that Bihar has now successfully integrated into the mainstream of development. Meanwhile, Water Resources Minister Vijay Chaudhary made a major announcement benefiting farmers; he stated that, through the Jamaniya Water Project, water from the Ganges River would be lifted and channeled to the agricultural fields of Kaimur. Additionally, residents of Bhabhua and Mohania are set to receive purified drinking water supplied from the Durgavati Dam.
The event witnessed the presence of numerous senior NDA leaders—including Minority Welfare Minister Jama Khan—as well as a massive turnout of local villagers.
